Foundation blocks (FBS)

Field of application

FBS foundation blocks are used for erecting precast foundations and underground structures in residential, commercial and industrial construction.

Main areas of use:

  • laying strip foundations
  • building walls of basements and technical floors
  • construction of the plinth (base) parts of buildings
  • forming foundations for columns and load-bearing structures
  • retaining walls and engineering structures
  • technical chambers, shafts and pits

FBS blocks are used in both low-rise and high-rise construction, as well as at industrial facilities with increased loads.

Thanks to factory manufacturing, the blocks ensure fast installation and high load-bearing capacity of the structure.

Technical features

FBS are massive rectangular reinforced concrete blocks made from heavy concrete using a factory method with strict quality control.

Main characteristics:

  • Made from heavy concrete of class B7.5–B15
  • High load-bearing capacity
  • Frost resistance (F50–F150)
  • Water-tightness W2–W6
  • Lifting loops for ease of installation
  • Geometric precision of dimensions

Advantages:

  • fast foundation construction
  • no formwork required
  • installation possible at any time of year
  • durability (service life of more than 50 years)
  • resistance to soil loads

FBS can be used in conditions of high humidity and seasonal freezing of the soil.

Types and varieties of FBS blocks

ФБС 24.4.6-Т

  • 24 — length (≈ 2380 mm)
  • 4 — width (400 mm)
  • 6 — height (580 mm)
  • Т — heavy concrete

Advantages of foundation blocks

FBS foundation blocks are used in practically any type of construction — wherever basement premises are planned, the groundwater level is high, or a fast foundation installation is required.

Compared with a monolithic foundation, precast FBS blocks offer a number of advantages:
